Advanced Micro Devices (AMD) is preparing to reveal new details about its highly anticipated AI "super chip" called the MI300. This chip, which is AMD's most advanced graphics processing unit (GPU), is expected to pose a significant challenge to Nvidia, the current leader in the artificial intelligence market. The MI300 is a crucial component used by companies like OpenAI in the development of AI products such as ChatGPT.
Currently, Nvidia holds a large market share of 80% to 95% in the AI computing market. Just recently, Nvidia's market capitalization briefly exceeded $1 trillion as the company projected increased revenue following the acquisition of new chip supplies to meet rising demand.
