  • Flipkart enters the UPI space, enabling users to create UPI handles for seamless transactions within and outside its platform.

  • Partnership with Axis Bank introduces the '@fkaxis' UPI handle and Super.Money fintech platform, broadening Flipkart's financial services.

  • Flipkart's UPI initiative aims to reduce dependency on third-party payment apps, offering a one-stop-shop experience and enhancing user convenience.

In a significant move, Flipkart, the e-commerce giant under Walmart's umbrella, has ventured into the Unified Payments Interface (UPI) space. This strategic step enables Flipkart's vast user base, comprising over 500 million registered users and 1.4 million sellers, to create their own UPI handles for transactions within and outside the platform. By integrating UPI directly into its app, Flipkart aims to streamline payments, offering a seamless experience for purchasing goods, paying bills, and making peer-to-peer transactions.

Partnering with Axis Bank, Flipkart has introduced the '@fkaxis' UPI handle, along with a new fintech platform called Super.Money. This collaboration expands Flipkart's financial services, encompassing lending, insurance, and more. The move signifies a departure from dependency on third-party payment apps like Google Pay and Paytm. Instead, Flipkart aims to keep users within its ecosystem by offering an in-house payment solution, thereby enhancing user convenience and eliminating the need to switch apps for transactions.

The user-friendly interface and cost-effective solutions distinguish Flipkart's UPI offering, facilitating swift transactions and seamless fund transfers. Moreover, the integration of Flipkart Axis Bank Credit Card further enhances the financial services repertoire, ensuring a holistic commerce experience for customers.

Dheeraj Aneja, Senior Vice President of Flipkart's Fintech and Payments Group, emphasizes the company's dedication to delivering secure, convenient, and rewarding payment options. Flipkart's UPI initiative not only serves as a testament to its commitment to digital empowerment but also showcases its strategic vision to reshape India's digital payment landscape. With its versatile UPI offering extending beyond its platform, Flipkart continues to innovate and lead in the evolving realm of e-commerce transactions.
