UpGrad Edtech Giant Raises INR 300 Crore in Latest Funding Round, Eyes Global Expansion

UpGrad Education Pvt Ltd, the edtech giant, has raised a staggering INR 300 crore in its recent internal funding round. This comes just seven months after the company secured $210 million in August 2022, demonstrating the firm's relentless growth trajectory.


The latest round was led by UpGrad's co-founder and chairperson, Ronnie Screwvala, who contributed INR 212 crore, with existing investor Temasek chipping in INR 81 crore. Other minority stakeholders provided the remaining funds.

UpGrad's spokesperson has confirmed that the company is still the largest enterprise and workforce development company in Asia, boasting a successful track record of 22,000 job placements this year alone. The firm's interactive deep learning approach has been instrumental in achieving this feat, benefiting both learners and working professionals worldwide.


Operating in 31 global offices, including India, the US, the UK, the Middle East, Singapore, and Vietnam, UpGrad offers an extensive range of skilling, certification, and job-linked programs. Its Study Abroad platform has also enabled the company to offer degree, diploma, and doctorate courses in collaboration with top universities in India and around the world.
